Orange Glow

The closest fire is 30 miles from us and still the air is orange and we can smell it. We are the lucky ones. Some of our friends and family have had to evacuate their homes and we are waiting to hear what will happen.

For now, we only have an eerie orange glow in and outside the house.

I think the cats are sensing something is not quite right.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you so much for posting an update. I was going to write you this afternoon to check and make sure you were ok. Or as ok as possible. :(

Stay Safe.....

Pipie's eyes are glowing orange!

so good to hear you are ok. fingers crossed indeed that this will be over soon. there's a lot about the fires on the news over here as well.

Stay safe, that's very scary!

I was living in LA during the hill fires a few years ago. This must be so much worse. Stay safe.

I'm glad to hear you and the pets are safe :)

I'm still hoping the flames won't burn my dad's home in San Marcos!

glad you are ok and fingers crossed for the evacuated.

scritches for the nervous kitties.

Thinking of you and crossing my fingers that the situation improve there.

Happy to hear that you are 30 miles away and I hope it never gets any closer. Hope your air is ok to breathe, too. Please keep us posted.

didn't realise the fires were so close. hope the evacuees you know are as comfy as possible. thinking of you!

oh gosh, I haven't been keeping up with the news, but that sounds like the fire is BAD if it's that close. :(
Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.

Oh I'm so sorry about your friends. I agree, my fingers are crossed and I'm sending you lots of positive energy.

My sock pal Tuulia lives in San Diego and she has to evacuate ... the fire was 4 miles away from her place!
I just hope there would be some help from nature with the firefighters fighting these fires. Take care.

We hold our thumbs instead of crossing fingers. Both methods make it difficult to knit. Thoughts and prayers plus a lit candle. (Hey, I'm in WI!)

((hugs)) Stay safe. My thoughts are with you!

Keeping fingers crossed with you. I talked to a good friend in San Diego who told me how much smoke and ash is everywhere and how everything is orange. Stay safe!

Stay safe! My prayers are with you. Hug the cats!

it's quite awful, isn't it? keep those cats inside and good luck. thankfully there are a lot of people trying their best to help.

I was just this morning looking at a map over the fires in our local paper, and trying to remember exactly where over there you live. I hope you stay safe. And I'm sure the animals sense, much faster than we humans, when something like this is going on. Poor them, feeling, but not knowing as much as we do.
Holding my thumbs for you (isn't it funny with these different expressions. What do you do in Italian, cross the fingers or holding the thumbs?).

Speriamo bene!

Francesca,
All our good thoughts are with you. It must be frightening. We keep watching the news every few hours over here, in the UK, and keep praying the wind will slow down and stop extending the fires.
Hugs and please take care,
Silvia

Francesca, I am so glad to hear you are OK . I was really worried about you .Take care !

I'm sending some "be safe" wishes to you guys! That's scary that the fires are so close, I hope you guys get some good hard rain!

my thoughts are with you....

Too, too scary! Glad you four are safe -- I've lived through some bad fire seasons in Montana and can only imagine how much worse it must be when it's homes going up in flames instead of woods. Be careful!

I'm crossing my fingers for you!

Glad to hear that you are fine where you are. Crossing my fingers for you too!
